On Your Feet - a community tale

What are we?  And to who? As a small business we regularly ask ourselves this.

We may sell sheepskin slippers from Otley to Ontario, Oswestry to Osaka but we are a local business, a family run affair that is part of a local community of real people, a community that rely on each other for services, support and fresh bread and eggs. As a family business you are a small part of a community that supports each other. Other small businesses, family, care givers, service providers and friends.

And so we introduce our On Your Feet midwinter campaign, the idea behind which is our connections with real people around us in Pool-In-Wharfedale in Yorkshire.  Proper lovely folk who do creative, caring and cool things and spend a lot of time on their feet every day. Characters who provide comfort, conversation, care, creativity and core functions within our local community.

In this series, we explore just a few of the people in our local community. People who are on their feet every day adding something to our days in their different ways. People who deserve a good pair of slippers at the end of (or during) the day.

It is, and was, wonderful to spend time with them in a slightly different way as we captured them in their homes and workplaces.

From potters and florists to nurses and bakers, prepare to meet some of the hands and feet behind Pool-in-Wharfedale, Otley and Leeds, each bringing their unique warmth, skill, and dedication to the community and to our family table.
